Fuel and Burning Rate
experiment will be testing which one burn longer, a lantern or a candle.
Does a kerosene lantern burn faster than a candle?
Does fuel type affect burning time?
My hypothesis is that a lantern will burn longer than a candle.

First, determine mass of candle and oil to be used. Measure the oil. Next, put oil in to the lantern.
Then light the candle and the lantern at the same time with a lighter. Note which one burns out first.

the lantern went the longest time from
at the begging i thought the lantern would burn long then a candle and was right. the lantern did last longer then the candles. so when you go camping you should bring a lantern instead of candles. the lantern is much more safe then a candle because if you take a candle and you are i the tent and you knock into the tent then your tent will burn down the tent and then would have to go home or sleep in you car until morning.
it shows that the lantern last longer then the candle. so the same the scented candle went out first then the
non scented candle went out last. yes i
my question at first i thought that the
would last long but then we had to cut the candle then i
change my mind. when i did the experiment there were no error in my project. my project went smooth throw the entire project. we had a little problem with it when we fix it. the problem was we had to finger out how to measure the oli and candle to gather.

it benefit the community because when they go camping then they know which one is better to bring. then the don't make the a mistake of bring the wrong thing.
A candle is a solid block or cylinder of wax with an embedded wick, which is lit to provide light, and sometimes heat.
Today, most candles are made from paraffin. Candles can also be made from beeswax, soy, other plant waxes, and tallow
beef-fat rendering. Candles are used for various purposes.They carry mythical and religious symbolism, purposes as well as practical but above all they are the symbol of light, of God and of good. Candles will be used forever regardless of all new technologies and ways of providing lighting.
Kerosene is an oil distillate commonly used as a fuel or solvent. It is a thin, clear liquid consisting of a mixture of hydrocarbons that boil between 302°F and 527°F (150°C and 275°C). While kerosene can be extracted from coal, oil shale, and wood, it is primarily derived from refined petroleum. Before electric lights became popular, kerosene was widely used in oil lamps and was one of the most important refinery products. Today kerosene is primarily used as a heating oil, as fuel in jet engines, and as a solvent for insecticide sprays.it is also used for lights.

This is to compare two different kinds of fuel. I compared
kerosene lantern and little wax candles. The lantern kerosene fuel lasted longer than all four wax candles. The candles went out before the lantern Kerosene . What I did was I lit the candle at different time they went out almost at the same time. The lantern kept going when the candles went out. Then we put out the lantern out because it would have gone on for hours.
